In 2005 MIT School of Government was initiated by young and dynamic Prof. Rahul V. Karad to create leaders among youth for a Career in Politics & Government. It is the first of its kind institute in the world to provide required knowledge and skills to the youth to take up challenging roles of leadership in Politics in India. Unfortunately, there were different types of professional programs for youth who are pursuing careers in medicine, engineering, pharmacy, management, law etc. There were comprehensive training programs even for administrative services. But, if someone desired to make Politics as a career, a profession, there was none until MIT School of Government was launched in 2005. To further strengthen the cause of creating more awareness about politics, sensitizing socially active & politically sensitive youth and students to embrace public life to strengthen the foundations of Indian democracy; Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad was initiated in 2011.
Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad was conceptualized & initiated by Prof. Rahul V. Karad, Chief Initiator & Dean, MIT School of Government and Vice President, MAEER's MIT Group of Institutions, Pune. BCS is organized in association with Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India, Ministry of Higher & Technical Education, Maharashtra and Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs, Maharashtra.
