I am elated today to see Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad th celebrate its 10 milestone year. The Great Noble Son of India Swami Vivekananda had said "Union of Science and Spirituality alone will bring peace to the mankind," and today my belief in these words has only grown stronger. All th the student leaders who had assembled at the 10 milestone year of Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad from across the nation are partaking your Rashtra Dharma, as you are the initiators of new age India. You gathered to gain knowledge from the leaders and that shows your commitment to your country. You must have taken inspiration from these leaders and philosophers and subsequently you must spread this by motivating and encouraging your peers whom you will interact with later. Only then will your journey to New Delhi and attending the th 10 Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad will prove to be successful.
When our country mother India celebrates diamond th jubilee, 75 Independence Day of India, I am only reminded of my own duty, and duty of BCS, and men who have great concern of making this country very unique country in this world. Perform your duty; duty towards mother, father and the family and the society, the nation and the whole worldVasudhaiva Kutumbakam. You are the hope and faith of thousands of Indians and it you who will bring in clean politics to India. From this moment onwards we have to create new image for the India that we hope to see in the future. Through our continued and dedicated efforts we have to ensure that our country India emerges as a knowledge code of the worldVishva Guru. I appeal to you to keep this word.

We are proudly witnessing the great strides made by the Indian youth in several spheres of activities. But the youth has been shying away from socio-political responsibilities today. The challenge is to get the youth involved in building the future India, which is their India, which will script their own future. In this context, I consider the success of the Indian Student Parliament (Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad) as an important milestone in today's socio-political environment of India. Indeed, the MIT School of Government has done remarkably well by drawing an overwhelming response from the student community by holding the first ever Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad in Pune. The event drew a wide appreciation from the Indian youth. Further, this brought the youth, the decision makers, eminent members of the civil society, corporate leaders and senior political leaders on one common platform.
I would like to applaud the bold, dynamic and visionary leadership of Rahul Karad. From concept to execution, he leads from the front. I must also appreciate the commitment of Government of Maharashtra, as shown by its genuine support of the idea as well as the event. I am confident that if we mobilize the student leaders all over the country, instill confidence in them, create a social awakening, then India will be on the move to occupy a top seat at the table in the Comity of Nations as the 21st century unfolds. I extend my heartiest greetings for the successful conduct of the 10th Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad.

During our freedom struggle the idea of 'Nai Talim' was contemplated by Mahatma Gandhi and his close associates. The purpose was to integrate academic learning with external environment. At a higher level, the scheme stimulated students' awareness about the surrounding issues and empathy about it and initiated their preparation for social commitment. The concept could not gain enough ground, but its relevance remains everlasting. Consequently, there is apathy among the students about the serious issues in the society and lack of concern for the marginalized population. This self-centric education can't create leaders and activists.
This state of affairs needs major churning. Fortunately, the initiative by MIT School of Government to organize the Indian Student Parliament deserves appreciation. It will help percolating the social bonds and commitment and inspire students for action. Its motto 'Inspiring Youth For Strengthening Democracy' is greatly symbolic in the sense that time has come for the action of youth. I extend all my wishes for its success.
